RiskMetrics Group, Inc., the proxy advisory firm and parent company of Institutional Shareholder Services, has announced that it is introducing a new corporate governance metric, referred to as Governance Risk Indicators (or GRId), applicable to public companies worldwide. GRId will replace the Corporate Governance Quotient (or CGQ), RiskMetrics’ existing governance metric, which will be phased out entirely over the next few months. RiskMetrics has indicated that they will make a data verification website freely available to all corporate issuers on March 17, 2010 and that each company will receive an email from RiskMetrics once the data for that company is ready for review.
